The Team at Yarrawonga Manufactured Housing (YMH) has been closely working with the District Council of Yankalilla on a project for some 18 months to design and deliver 23 new modular single-story Holiday Villas to the Jetty Caravan Park, Normanville. This is part of the Normanville Foreshore and Jetty Caravan Park Masterplan.  The District Council of Yankalilla believe YMH designs “present an attractive new accommodation offering in the Fleurieu Peninsula with the potential to attract year-round interest”.

YMH has designed a total of six new modular Villas to meet a wide variety of accommodation needs. These designs consist of an open-plan studio Motel style, two-bedroom villas suitable for families, couples or groups of friends with entertaining al fresco areas and accessibility friendly designs. The District Council of Yankalilla CEO Nigel Morris said “The cabin configurations were selected with the view of offering choice, convenience and quality accommodation”. The 23 new cabins add tremendous value to our area masterplan and ultimately to the economy of our community as a whole.”

With the three tiers of government now equally contributing to the expanded $6,136,650 project, the Cabin Project will now not only deliver the full 23 new fully furnished cabins, but the funding will also be applied to improve local infrastructure in the park such as underground services, fire hydrants, electricity upgrades, fencing, landscaping and recreational amenities.

We are confident that the Cabin Project will be successful and generate revenue for the community while adding significant economic value to surrounding local businesses.” explained Mr. Morris.

YMH will spend upwards of $175,000.00 on local trades businesses to help assist with works on the villas once delivered to Normanville.

The new villas have been arriving steadily at the Jetty Road Caravan Park from August 2022 and with completion on the final four dwellings scheduled to be delivered to Normanville late November.

YMH Managing Director John Tresize is currently on site in Normanville to project manage this development and says “seeing the cabins arrive at the park has been the biggest highlight of the project so far”.  Alongside John and his wife Pauline, YMH team members from Mulwala & Bendigo and the transport contractor will have spent 225 days in Normanville contributing to the local economy whilst completing this project.

Mr Tresize has a lengthy and knowledgeable background in the Tourism Industry, confidently he says “We’re providing a wonderful experience for families to enjoy the communities in caravan Parks. Caravan parks are little communities”.
